Det her er Little Betty & Wilma.
Blusen knappes i nakken'.
Meet Little Betty and Wilma. Little Betty is our new Australien friend designed by the talented Suz/Sewpony and I'm proud to be invited on the Little Betty Top Tour.
The Little Betty is originally a top but I've turned her a little dress which was very easily done. This is what Suz writes about the pattern:
The Little Betty top is a 1970's inspired knit design that has three views: Long sleeved, short sleeved and sleeveless. It features wide banding and a gathered frill over the bodice. It closes with a button and loop closure at the centre back.
The 25 page PDF file is priced at $8 AUD and includes:
- Sizses from 6 months to 8 years
- Annotated and clear photographs for each step
- Seam allowances included
- All measurements in imperial and metric
- Measurement charts
- Fabric requirements and recommendations
- Tips for sewing with knits
- Colour coded easy to assemble pattern pieces
As stated above I turned little Betty into a dress with a bit narrower 3/4 sleeves. I also omitted the centre back closure and made Wilma a pull over version. To do that I moved the frills 1,3 cm towards the shoulders and widened the neck opening a bit. That's it.
And, it wasn't until I shot the photos of the back I realized that Wilma was wearing the dress backwards hence the little deeper back neck opening ;-)! On the two last photos she's wearing the dress as it's supposed to be worn!
Thank you so much for inviting me, Suz. We adore this pattern. (Even the teen sister thinks the dress is cool....on Wilma ;-)
Hop on over to Sewpony and take a look at all the other adorable Little Bettys
Thanks so much trine!! This is beautiful! I will certainly be trying a Little Betty dress myself soon. Thanks for being on tour!!
SvarSletThanks Suz for letting me participate. It's such a wonderful pattern. Wilma is wearing her dress (again) today :-)
SletGreat idea to turn the top into a dress - I can't wait to try this!!
SvarSletGet, set, go, Renee - and thanks :-)
SletLove it, Trine :) If a teen thinks it is cool (even on someone else), that is like the biggest compliment, isn't it? I am planning on making a little betty dress as well :)
SvarSletExactly, Jenya - if a teen says thumbs up it's a big thing!!! :-)
SletOh! I had the same idea in my mind! Great work!
SvarSletThanks - and I must say that we are really pleased with this dress!
SletCute-cute-cute!!! The Little Betty dress is on my project list! Beautiful as always, Trine!
SvarSletThank you so much, Venus :-)
SletShe looks great! I was also considering a Little Betty dress. Now you prove that that is a good idea!
SvarSletThank you, Leentje - it's really a great pattern!
